Meet the Doctor
Dr. Julio A. Ramirez
Dr. Ramirez is a native of El Salvador and is bilingual, fluent in both spoken and written English and Spanish. He graduated from La Universidad Evangélica de El Salvador in 1988 and trained in general surgery at the Military and Rosales Hospitals. After moving to the United States, Dr. Ramirez completed his training in pediatrics at the Children's Medical Center of Brooklyn.
He has been a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) since 2004. He opened his Chestertown office in June 1999 and, due to growing demand, opened a second office in Centreville in 2004. In February 2015 that office moved to the Shore Medical Pavilion in Queenstown. The Queenstown location closed on June 27, 2020, and its patients were welcomed at the Chestertown office so that every family could continue receiving care without interruption.
Our Approach to Care
- Prevention first. Regular well-child visits, developmental screening and on-time immunizations help children stay healthy and catch concerns early.
- Evidence-based medicine. We follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), including its immunization schedule and its standards of care for conditions such as ADHD.
- Partnership with parents. You know your child best. We take time to listen, answer questions and share information you can use at home.
- Care in English and Spanish. Families can talk with Dr. Ramirez in the language they are most comfortable with.
- A safe, comfortable office. Separate waiting rooms for sick and well children help protect newborns and healthy children during their visits.
